Store Manager

Tell everybody you want to progress and show the commitment and determination to get where you want to go

“The role of Store Manager at Iceland is to drive sales, service and standards in the store. You’ve got to roll your sleeves up a lot of the time and get stuck in. Your staff see you getting stuck in and they follow you. You have to work together as a team – there’s no individuals.

“We have talent events to identify people with the potential to progress. I’m a prime example – I started as a part-time delivery driver and worked through every stage of the company, from CSS, to deputy manager up to manager and now I’ve been a manager for six years.

“It’s a case of making yourself heard. Tell everybody you want to progress – shout it from the rooftops – and then show the commitment and determination to get where you want to go.”
