Why Iceland?

Where do we start? From a commercial point of view, it’s always reassuring to join a company that’s really going places. The figures speak for themselves – such as four years of growth in a row. Last year our profits were up 19%, making us a tidy £135.4m and helping us create over 2,500 new jobs.

But there’s much more to Iceland than just knowing how to make a profit. Currently ranked 1st in ‘The Sunday Times Best Big Companies to Work For’, much as we all work very hard, we try not to make it feel like hard work! After all, if you don’t enjoy what you do, how can our customers enjoy shopping with us?

What makes the difference at Iceland is that working here feels like being part of one big family. And, as clichéd as it might sound, we really do work hard and play hard too. There’s always something going on. It’s a fun place to be and, because we don’t stand on ceremony, everyone has the freedom to be themselves.
